First Times

I wrote a few days ago about meeting a Korean Adoptee for the first time on my other blog.

A couple of days ago, I went to visit one of our buildings to drop something off for an employee. I walked up to the front desk and said “Hi, I’m the HR representative from Michigan.”

She glanced up at me and said, “She’s down the road in the other building.”

I paused for a second and then realized she hadn’t heard me correctly. “No,” I said. “I’m the HR rep. from Michigan.”

She laughed and I laughed. I was obviously not what she was expecting.
