Born and Raised

I can’t even remember what I said, but someone said, “Well, you can tell you’re from the mid-west.”

It was on the tip of my tongue to say “born and raised” and I had to stop myself. It’s one of those things that you hear people say all the time and it seemed so natural for me to repeat it – but I wasn’t “born and bred” in the mid-west. Raised, yes, but born, no.

Some would say that it’s a sign of how comfortable I am with where I am today. Others might say that it’s proof of my assimilation. What do I think? I’m still thinking about it.

I think it reflects where you are raised and that you comfortable with yourself as a person. And that is good!
